25, 2004 - Hyogo Prefectural Art Museum |
We had a Christmas breakfast with some friends from the dormitory and went to the waterfront later that afternoon. Diana wrote in her Journal while I made a drawing of Tadao Ando's Hyogo Prefectural Art Museum.

Christmas day was a joyous, sunny occasion. After shredding wrapping paper and calling friends and relatives back home (a day early for them), we headed up to the 5th floor to Katie and Mike's place. Katie and Mike had prepared all the traditional elements. Christmas tree, Christmas music. and Christmas brunch! I especially enjoyed Mike's family recipe of scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese, topped with an excellent homemade salsa. Oh, I had forgotten how much I love salsa! Since Katie and Mike don't drink coffee, we had had our share earlier in the morning and were feeling great. Neighbors Dorin and Vera (from Romania) and two friends from the local Mormon Church joined us as we gave thanks and pigged out. All in all, it was a really nice Christmas. We returned home to revel in our time off. |
